Welcome
Welcome to the Charleston Family YMCA – Where You Connect.
For over 100 years, there has been a YMCA in Charleston, West Virginia. A lot has changed in a hundred years, for the YMCA and for the community. We are in an age of "connectivity" – having technology that allows people to connect instantly with others: cell phones, pagers, faxes, emails, text messages, video conferencing practically anywhere in the world; yet, we live in a time where many feel "disconnected". In a fast paced, stressful world, we find it hard to have a deeper connection with others and many times, ourselves...
The "Y" is a place that you can take an hour and practice yoga, play tennis, swim laps, ride a "spin" bike, or just sit and talk with friends. The "Y" is your place to reenergize, relax and connect to yourself. The YMCA was founded on people connecting together to develop their spirits, minds and bodies. The Charleston Family YMCA has helped thousands of people do this for over a century and continues to be a connecting place for many children, adults and families in the Valley.
From its humble beginnings, the YMCA has grown as the Kanawha Valley has grown over the last hundred years. From yoga to preschool to swim lessons for all ages, the YMCA has been an integral part of the community and continues its mission daily.
The Charleston Family YMCA is a volunteer led, mission-driven, non-profit organization committed to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities through programs that develop spirit, mind and body. The Charleston Family YMCA is a branch of the YMCA of Kanawha Valley and a sister branch of the Tyler Mountain YMCA.
Do something for yourself today, come to the Y and get connected!
Yours in Service,
